It is a real story of the woman working in bars for 26 years: Debbie Peagler. She is African-American woman whose boyfriend gave her pain every time. She was forcefully thrown into prostitution by her boyfriend. She was pressed into jail in a false murder case. After two decades, two lawyers decided to fight for Peagler’s right to freedom.
According to a California law that gives right to reopen a cases involving physically abused and battered women.
She told the lawyers that her boyfriend used to hit her everyday and when he forced her into prostitution, she agreed with him since she did not wanted to be beaten up further. Crime After Crime is a hard-hitting documentary that disclose the real criminal behind the darkness of a terrifying angle.
This movie also tries to aware us about the pitfalls of our system that prosecutes the innocents. I had also the same experience in my life. Movie is the mirror of our justice system that does not tries to see what the loop holes are, so it is more shame for us.
The producers did an excellent job of his life. Crime After Crime is a must-see movie that should be watch online in every home so that it should have a worldwide acclaim that deserves it.
